TO/DIE/FOR Guitarist Says Getting Fired From SOULRELIC 'Made Me Laugh'

January 28, 2006

TO/DIE/FOR guitarist Antza Talala has commented on his departure from Finnish metallers SOULRELIC.

In a statement released earlier in the month, SOULRELIC blamed the split on "some personal conflicts within the band," adding that "we still remain friends, but we no longer can work together as a band."

Addressing his departure for the first time, Talala said, "There was couple of bandmates in SOULRELIC who couldn't handle [the fact] that I play in two bands! Our opinions went different directions. We didn't talk about it much, but the other guys just let me know that I'm not in the band anymore. But the whole situation just made me laugh. And I really continue with TO/DIE/FOR always!! Now I can [concentrate] 200 percent [on] this band!!"

SOULRELIC will release their debut album, "Love is a Lie We Both Believed" (featuring Talala),in Japan on February 22 via Marquee Inc. The Japanese version of the CD will include a bonus track — a previously unreleased song called "Tears Are Home". The album, which was released in Finland on the Spinefarm label, was mixed by Hiili Hiilesmaa, who has previously worked with such acts as H.I.M., SENTENCED, MOONSPELL and THE 69 EYES.

TO/DIE/FOR are continuing to tour in support their latest album, "IV", available now on Spinefarm Records/Soulfood. The follow-up to 2003's "Jaded" was recorded at Sonicimage studios in Kouvola, Finland and was mixed at Finnvox studios in Helsinki with Mikko Karmila.
